Here's the original BigBoy sculpt. Painted him up in blood red and love it, it's not very often something comes out just how I see it in my head but this is one of them times.

Well here he is the finished Cheeky Tiki. Painted him this morning and also made him a little detachable base with a sandy look. Really happy how he came out. Might do some mini versions and cast if there's interest, let me know.

Great news - I got a little write up over on the fantastic TOYSREVIL blog. If you fancy having a read select here, and treat yourdelf TOYSREVIL is the got to toy blog and Andy is ace!

I've managed to spend another hour or so on the little 'Cheeky Tiki' adding some details - pretty pleased how he is coming on.

Starting to add the details.

Had a couple of hours to get on with Mr Cheeky Tiki this morning. I ended up taking off the board it was helping when it came to shaping him up. Think he is coming along nicely, got his arms/hands and butt cheeks sorted - smothing out his mask and working out what to put where - photos of where I'm at below.

I have had a few emails recently asking how I make my models - truth is I make it up as I go along with help from online buddies and google. But I thought I do a cheeky Tiki sculpt this weekend and take some snaps as I go and post them up here - not sure how he's going to turn out, we'll have to see.

To start I like to have a clear vision of what the finished sculpt will look like I like to have a rough sketch of what I'm looking to achieve (this way I be fluid with the design).

Next up it's time to get some wire out to make the armature. I don't always make one, but because this chap was going to be standing I thought I'd start right.

I make a wooden base to attach the armature to to help baking and sculpting.

Time to fill out with some tin foil.

Here comes the clay a mix of Sculpey firm and soft.

And that's it for now - lot's of Dad stuff to do, so will try and get some time later to finish up,

Here he is - the finished Tiki before mould making and casting. Added a little skull detail in the back to tie it in with [rich]. Comments? Cheers.
