Cheers

Well the first batch of stickers are heading around the globe as I type this - only a few packs left. Thanks for all the interest.

Not being able to sleep at night helps with the doodles - just finished inking this little sucka! Bit cute for me but I think it works.

Cheers

Wow - thanks for all the sticker requests. Just finished cutting, cutting and more cutting, they will all be shipped tomorrow.

Now onto some drawing before I hit the sack :-)

Free Stickers - Want some?..., originally uploaded by [rich].

What’s better than something for nothing? How about sticky fun for nothing. I’ve got a fresh batch of hand cut sticker packs to pass on to you guys.

Each pack contains 10 random stickers. “What’s the catch?” I here you ask. Nothing. If you want to get your sweaty little mitts on ’em, all you need to do is drop me an email to umetoys@googlemail.com and we’ll sort you out ASAP - all we ask is a paypal transaction of £2 to cover the postage and packaging.

Hurry though as stocks are limited. Look forward to hearing from you.

Love and Skulls (Pages 11-12), originally uploaded by [rich].

Another day and another scribble completed.

Toy news - I'm hoping to get on with some more on this project in a weeks time, should be full steam ahead then :-D

In other news... check back tomorrow for a cheeky offer - too good to miss.

Panda Doodle Pages 7&8, originally uploaded by [rich].

Pages 7&8 of the pad filled with some Friday Ink :-)

Pages 5-6 all in., originally uploaded by [rich].

Well that's pages 5&6 inked up.

What do you chaps reckon? Let me know I love feedback.

I must say that this pad is quality. It is a 'moleskin' type pad (but cheaper) A5 size made by Derwent. The pages are a tasty thick stock that's ace to pencil on and soak up the ink quicker than a dehydrated elephant.

Oh my Godzilla!, originally uploaded by [rich].

Another page bits the dust - more like zapped into oblivion by dinosaur powered laser eyes.

The new sketch pad has been broken in with a couple of pages of new scribbles. Click the image above to have a look at the other pages :-).

Skull Tree, originally uploaded by [rich].

Monday Skull growth.

Good news all the supplies have come for the casting etc - all I need now is the time to sort it all out.

Wrestler, originally uploaded by [rich].

Not much to report on today - got plenty of new supplies in yesterday including a couple of new cheeky A5 sketch pads. Very nice.

Werewolf, originally uploaded by [rich].

Nothing says I love you like the undead and their mates. I had completely forgotten about this guy and the rest of his stinking chums.

They came together a year ago in illustrator for a bit of fun and then ended up being part of a greetings car series (that didn't really go anywhere). If you'd like to see the cards and wrapping paper let me know.

Loved Up, originally uploaded by [rich].

Just looking through my sketchpad this morning - I had forgotten about this little character. When I get time I will work him and this little dude up some more and hopefully make a sculpt as well (addicted to sculpey at the moment).

Round Ears, originally uploaded by [rich].

It's been a busy week here at Ume towers. Lot's of scribbling and hopefully toy making this weekend.

Just like to say thanks to everyone for the support and good words. Here's a list of some of the people who are digging the Ume vibe:

Super Punch
Spanky Stores
ToyCite
Vox
DunnyClub NL

If you feel the same let us know - Cheers and have a great weekend.

Flame on , originally uploaded by [rich].

So far so good - seems like everyone likes the idea of the owl project which is greaaaaaaaaaat (as Tony the Tiger would say).

The little persons made up as well, she has sold a few items on her cafepress shop (pop on over and have a look).

Toy news - the bullet has well and truly been bitten today. After asking a million and one questions about mould making and resin casting I have placed an order for the needed supplies to start producing the my owl toy blanks. A huge thanks goes out to Okkle for all the great advice and tips (check out his Flickr set - he has some awesome work over there).

For the mould I have ordered T28 Silicone Rubber and for the casting DR029F Rigid Polyurethane Resin. I am going to massage the blank before casting - making the wings and feet detachable so these can be cast separately and will be easy to customise on the finished figure.

All I need to do now is all the work and think of a name for him/her - any suggestions?

Keep checking over on my flickr feed for updates. And as always let me know what you think. Don’t be shy I love hearing from you all.

Haven't drawn one of these little chaps in a while so had to put that straight. Probably one of the cutest things that I draw - my pencil normally spits out pure evil.

Follow up to a little Spider-Man scribble. Haven't drawn any super hero's for ages, always loved Venom and Carnage.

Flame head is going to be my next sculpt. He would look cool in a coloured clear vinyl - what do you reckon?

Small Persons Cat Shop, originally uploaded by [rich].

The youngest member of the Ume crew has put pen to paper and produced these amazing bags along with a host of other items. Make her day and visit her shop over here for the ideal cheeky Valentines gift for the one you love.

One up one down, originally uploaded by [rich].

Wavey Davie - Once I've made a cast of these I'll do a whole family with their wings in different positions.

Hands down, originally uploaded by [rich].

Wings in the same position as the original sketch.

Hands up - from the side, originally uploaded by [rich].

Everything is assembled with blu-tak for now. I am thinking of casting the body before final assembly so I can make some more of these puppies - what'd think?

Hands up, originally uploaded by [rich].

Well should be "wings up" really ;-)

Sculpted 2 sets of wings - the first set very much like the original drawing, but decided to do a lighter set also. These lighter ones are the ones on the above picture. I prefer them. They are black because I forgot to check the oven when baking them off - ohps!

Handy Feet, originally uploaded by [rich].

Here's the feet sanded flat to attach to the body - I wanted them to be chunky and cute to take up the weight of the body and also look like the original sketch.

Owl Tail, originally uploaded by [rich].

After a couple of attempts I opted for this version of the tail for my owl. A bit of a make it up as you go along part as I hadn't drawn a 360 version of the little dude.

Baked clay, originally uploaded by [rich].

Here's the main body after being baked and smoothed. It took around 1 hour to smooth down with various grades of sand paper.

Original sculpt, originally uploaded by [rich].

Well here goes - the core of this sculpt is made from tin foil to help take up some of the space keeping the weight down and also the cost.

Owlie, originally uploaded by [rich].

After drawing so many little owls recently I decided it was time to try another custom sculpt - follow the progress and please let me know what you think.
